Kentucky Deer Hunting

All deer harvested shall be 130″ Boone and Crocket scoring system.

Rifle Hunts: November 14 - 23

Rifle Hunt Details: Our rifle hunts are very limited. You will be hunting from an elevated shooting platform, ground blind or ladder stand. This time of year will be the peak of the rut and the bucks will be moving all day. Temperatures will range from extreme single digits to 70 degrees during the day. The average is 35-40 degrees during the morning and 60-70 degrees in the afternoon. Our hunting strategy works primarily with the wind and its direction. We focus our hunting position on buck travel corridor from our fields through funnel areas. Typically, we start high above the field edges in the morning catching bucks moving from fields and herd fields in the evening. Of course during the rut anything can happen. Shooting distance can vary our longest shot would be over 400 yards, which is not suggested. Our fields are long and narrow so shot distance will vary. Our terrain surrounding these fields is extremely think and rough. You will be paired with other hunters as you travel to your hunting site and your guide will either drop off one of you or hunt with you or they will scout. At the end of the hunt you will be given instruction about where to meet and pick up deer brought back to the cabin.
